This picture was taken on August 27, 1978 at Noi Bai airport, Hanoi, Vietnam.  The group shown is a Congressional Delegation.led by Representative Sonny Montgomery, who was then Chairman of the Select Committee on POW/MIAs.  The event was the return of eleven sets of U.S. military service members remains (contained in the metal boxes each with a US Flag). The remains were transported that day from Hanoi by a US Military Honor Guard to Hickam AFB Hawaii for positive identification.  It was said at the time that this CODEL was the first to visit Hanoi after the end of the Vietnam War and the first return of US Military remains by Vietnam  In the picture, from right to left:.Representatives Sonny Montgomery, James Broyhill, George Daniels, Antonio Won Pat, John Murtha, Hensen Moore, Sam B. Hall, and Ike Skelton.  The military escorts  were Colonel Ted Reese (Lt. General, USAF Ret.) Major Douglas Roach (Colonel, USAF Ret.) and Senior Master Sergeant Peter Steffes (Chief Master Sergeant, USAF Ret.) The photo was taken by one of the press photographers with us on the trip, I think it was AP, but not sure and I do not have a name.  The original photo was given to Representative Montgomery who then gave a copy to the rest of the delegation.
