WASHINGTON, DC - April 17: Representatives of the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers protesting the awarding of the Air Force's tanker program to European EADS. The rally was attended by several of the leaders in the U.S. Congress of the "Buy American" push that is trying to get reversed the awarding of the $35 billion Air Force's tanker program to European EADS, rather than U.S.-based Boeing. Several lawmakers are looking to include in a bill a provision that not only would undo the award to Northrop Grumman but also permanently rewrite the rules of Pentagon procurement in ways that would clearly favor U.S. bidders over foreign ones."
