WASHINGTON - July 19: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., with family members of Sept. 11 victims after a news conference before the joint House-Senate conference on America's Security Act of 2007, also known as the 9/11 bill, legislation that would implement the recommendations of the 9-11 Commission. Carie Lemack, and Beverly Eckert are with Pelosi. They are members of the Sept. 11 Commission's family task force. House and Senate aides said Wednesday that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., has asked that conferees hold only one conference session on the bill (HR 1). Tentative plans to meet again July 24 were scrapped. "The Speaker wants this conference to wrap up as soon as possible," Pelosi spokesman Drew Hammill said. "If work could be completed tomorrow, that would be the best result." (Photo by Scott J. Ferrell/Congressional Quarterly).
