Official portrait - Sen. Jennings Randolph, D-W.Va., thanks Washington artist, Bradley Stevens, for oil painting unveiled at National Air and Space Museum celebration. In 1946, while a member of the House of Representatives, Randolph authored legislation to create a national air museum. Thirty years later, the National Air and Space Museum opened for America's Bicentennial. Since 1976, more than 80 million visitors have toured the Smithsonian facility. Museum expansion plans include four buildings near Dulles Airport, one to be named for Jennings Randolph whose portrait will hang in the foyer. (Photo by CQ Roll Call)
